Organizational Chart - Template

Use the attached template to create an organizational structure for your business.  

As you're preparing to open your business, you may be inclined to skip this step because there may only be two or three people running the day-to-day operations to start with.  As the owner of the business, it's important to have a clear understanding of all the roles and tasks required to run your home care business.  An org chart provides a visual tool to help make sure that each essential task has someone it's assigned to.

Org structures are dynamic, and should grow as you grow.  The first time you fill in your org chart, you likely won’t have a different person in each role; rather, you will see the same names written in multiple boxes.  What's important to focus on is ensuring that the roles are clearly defined so that someone on the team is accountable for the goals set for every area of the business.  

As the business owner, you will need to determine which roles you're most comfortable with delegating upfront to someone else, and then more tasks as you continue to grow.  Eventually, you'll want to be less inundated with the day-to-day operational execution in order to shift your focus to broader growth strategies.  Completing the org chart will help you to identify the roles that are better served by hiring someone versus the roles where your strengths are best utilized.
